SUSAN MONTEE

Attorney

Susan Montee is a both an attorney and certified public accountant. She has enjoyed a multifaceted career in law, public and private accounting, academia and public service. A St. Joseph native, Susan was sworn in as Missouri’s 35th State Auditor in 2007 becoming the first statewide official elected from Buchanan County in more than 125 years.

Susan had previously served as a member of the St. Joseph City Council and as Buchanan County Auditor. Susan began her accounting career with a Big Eight public accounting firm and still maintains a current permit to practice public accounting. Susan oversees all financial transactions of the Montee Law Firm and handles the resolution of financial and lien issues related to client matters. In addition to the practice of law, Susan served on the faculty at Missouri Western State University from 2013 through 2017 teaching Business Law and Accounting. Susan represents victims of automobile accidents, trucking accidents, construction accidents, product liability, employment discrimination, and business torts.
