Kansas City, Missouri auto accident attorney James Montee has reached a settlement on behalf of his clients for injuries received in a Carroll County, Missouri automobile accident.
On March 11, 2012, at noon two cars collided head-on near the center of County Road 281 in rural Carroll County, Missouri. After mediation, the four victims of the crash resolved their competing claims for insurance policy limits on the two vehicles.
Quentin Simmons, age 19, was driving a 2000 Ford Escort with passengers Jessica Hodge, age 17, and Breanna Millard, age 16. The other vehicle was driven by Logan Frank, age 18.
Quentin Simmons expired at the scene as a result of the collision. Breanna Millard suffered a traumatic brain injury and multiple orthopedic injuries including hip and pelvic fractures. Jessica Hendrix suffered a left hip dislocation, pelvic fracture, aortic aneurysm, and small bowel resection. Logan Frank received moderate injury.
The Simmons vehicle was insured by Shelter Insurance with policy limits of 50/100. The Frank vehicle was insured by State Farm with policy limits of 250/500. All parties agreed to a mediation to apportion the $600,000 in proceeds.
The two passengers with significant injuries were awarded the greatest shares, Breanna Millard the full $300,000 possible and Jessica Hendrix $245,000. The wrongful death claim of Quentin Simmons was resolved for $50,000 and Logan Frank’s claim received $5,000.
